Instructions

General Instructions:

  1. Pour each size 10 glass seed bead mixture, the assorted glass beads for outer strand and each remaining bead variety into separate shallow, rimmed containers.
  2. Keep the thread tension tight as you work.
  3. Dab jewelry glue on all knots and let dry before continuing.

Beading:

Inner strand:

  1. Cut a 36-in. length of thread. Add needle to one end.
  2. Holding loose end of thread between your fingers so bead does not fall off, string one size 10 glass seed bead onto thread. Leaving a tail of thread, knot the loose end of the thread.
  3. String one silver bead tip onto the thread, positioning the bead tip so the seed bead rests tightly inside the cup of the bead tip.
  4. String 22 randomly mixed seed beads, one 3mm denim blue bead, the barrel bead of your choice and another 3mm denim blue bead onto the thread. Repeat this pattern 11 times or until the inner strand measures about 19-½ in., alternating the different barrel beads as desired.
  5. Add 22 more randomly mixed seed beads, the remaining silver bead tip and another seed bead, positioning it inside the cup of the bead tip as before.
  6. Pull beads together and bring the thread back through the silver bead tip. Knot thread.
  7. Bring the tail of thread back through the last 10 beads on the strand. Trim the excess thread.

Center strand:

  1. Cut a 36-in. length of thread. Add needle to one end.
  2. Tie loose end of thread to one silver bead tip on first strand.
  3. String 25 powder blue seed beads and one 6mm round blue transparent glass bead onto thread. Repeat this pattern 18 times or until center strand measures about 23-½ in.
  4. Add 25 powder blue seed beads.
  5. Pull beads together and bring the thread through the second silver bead tip. Knot thread.
  6. Bring the tail of thread back through the last 10 beads on the strand. Trim the excess thread.

Outer strand:

  1. Cut a 36-in. length of thread. Add needle to one end.
  2. Tie loose end of thread to one bead tip on first and second strands.
  3. String 12 randomly mixed seed beads, then add one bead of your choice from the oat beads or assortment of glass beads. Repeat this pattern 26 times or until outer strand measures about 27 in.
  4. Add 12 randomly mixed seed beads.
  5. Pull the beads together and bring the thread through the second silver bead tip. Knot thread.
  6. Bring the tail of thread back through the last 10 beads on the strand. Trim the excess thread.

  2. Gently use the needle-nose pliers to close the hooks of the bead tips around the toggle clasp rings.
